I don't know if it's possible, but since you have the PIQ feature maybe it is. It would be the trades only get matched accordingly with the PIQ they were placed, even though there is no real money in there. That would be the greatest. Also adding the 5 seconds of tht betfair delay to the bet getting placed. Then, on the demo definitions, have the option to disable or not this features.

Thanks!

Hi Andreos,

Thanks for your message. Yes, when training mode is added to the software, I am planning to make it work in the manner that you described.

Kind regards,

Gavin

Migrating to the new version of the Betfair API is a massive job and is currently taking all my time, so it will probably be a long while before I can return to working on introducing major new features such as training mode. On the positive side, training mode is probably going to be the next major new feature that I will add.
Kind regards,
Gavin

I think this would entice more users to use the trial version if training mode gets added. I'd like to give this a +1.

I'd like to say that I think a training mode would be helpful too.

Hi. With the current version out, is training mode already available as an option?

Hi Peleus,
Sorry, it is not yet included, I have added some information here about my plans for adding training mode in the future:
http://www.cymatic.co.uk/FAQ.aspx#trainingMode
I hope folks will consider the opinions that I expressed about the risks and potential drawbacks of using training modes.
I had to pause my plans for adding new features for a while, in order to devote my time to the essential work to migrate all the code to use the new Betfair API format, but I'm hoping to finish that migration before the summer.
Kind regards,
Gavin

Training mode is now included in the new version released today!

The method of simulation of bets is fairly realistic, including using PIQ and replicating the in-play delay.

Hi Gavin,

I tested a bit and some bets are just not apearing on the ladder when you place them. Some of the bets you put on a blank spot just don't get in. You have to move to a spot where money is to appear and get matched. You cannot propose the price in a blank spot. However, as I said, it's just some bets, not all.

Good job, tough.
